On the lexicographic treatment of pronominal words (exemplified by Serbian demonstrative pronouns ovoliki, toliki and onoliki)

This paper examines the lexicographic treatment of Serbian pronominal words (pronouns, adverbs and particles) in general, with a particular focus on demonstrative pronouns for quantity ovoliki [?this big/ much/many?], toliki [?so big/much/many?] onoliki [?that big/much/many?]. It is shown that, contrary to commonly held views, can be semantically complex, that their tripartite subsystems, characteristic language, could appropriately treated as series entries (in sense term used by S. Landau). also difficulties defining ovoliki, toliki, arise from semantic ?multidimensionality?, i.e., capability diversification basis more than one components. The pertinent components are following: (1) notion quantity, which comprises various cases, depending nature concept whose pointed to; (2) kind space - may physical or some metaphorical spaces. In addition, (3) component comparison case onoliki) pointing bleach. Upon close examination Dictionary Serbo-Croatian Literary Vernacular Language, proposes alternative definitions, based analysis under examination, taking into account all dimensions diversification.
